Re-positioning SoTL toward the T-shaped Community

Amongst a range of changes that have taken place within tertiary education, perhaps the most revolutionary has been shift to student-centred approaches focused on life-long learning. Accompanying this approach holistic higher education (HE) growing interest in, and understanding of, Scholarship Teaching Learning (SoTL). SoTL has, at its core, deep concern with student learning is therefore well-aligned education’s renewed focus students. In conceptual paper, we examine impact T-shaped person which many institutions are operationalizing inform connect development students’ disciplinary knowledge non-academic employment readiness skills (such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking). Importantly, argue for re-positioning complement support model, both fulcrum fluid, multiple threads discourse intricately entwined around structure model. We encourage our colleagues strive be practitioners cast vision community. Here, all stakeholders HE their academic in collaborative ways produce learners who flourish modern society.
